TAPS

Taps is a song too familiar to military connected Americans. The song is played to honor and remember our fallen friends and comrades. This page is dedicated to the recognition of veterans from VFW Post 423 and Ann Arbor who are no longer with us.

VFW Honor Guard and funeral detail
The VFW offers free honor guard and funeral detail services to all veterans who have passed, regardless of VFW membership. We believe that service to our nation is a high calling that should be recognized throughout a veterans life, and after. Honor guard services are done by veteran volunteers who seek to honor fellow veterans. To receive this service, the requirements are:
  • Veteran must have an honorable discharge
  • Documentation showing proof of service. This document is known as a DD-214 If you can't find a DD214, then the Post's Service Officer can help fill out the appropriate paperwork for duplicates.
